Magento 2 or M2, is an e-commerce CMS and is the successor to the wildly popular Magento (M1) sites. Magento powers 1.2% of all websites online.
Owned by Adobe, Magento is a great CMS for small to mid sized e-commerce businesses. Although not as affordable or fluid as WordPress, Magento does house some level of versatility through the diverse extensions available to webmasters.
