About Me

The Short of it.

I’m an SEO (search engine optimization) consultant and digital marketer based out of Chicago. I have a drive to help people grow through knowledge-sharing but also just lending an ear.

Full Bio.

I was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. I am a first generation American, with my parents emigrating from Ecuador to live in the United States.

My parents started their own business, El Condor, in the mid-90s out of the Logan Square neighborhood. The business imported goods from Latin America and sold products through their brick and mortar storefront and furthering expanding into wholesale. I would deliver goods to our clients in the Chicagoland area as well as across the Midwest. The “store”, as my siblings and I would call it, would prepare me for my forthcoming career.

I went to DePaul University and graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance. At this point, I was seeking something that would satisfy my creative side. I set my eyes on marketing; I wanted to be one of those Mad Men type of marketers.

With the “store’s” help, I was introduced to SEO, or search engine optimization.

My parents needed a website for the store, so I learned HTML and CSS in order to build one for them. Then I heard that they can be found through Google so I applied best practices, where possible.

From there, I went on to be an intern at various locations, picking up copy writing skills and then specializing in SEO. Locations I’ve interned in my early years include Plum Tree Group and Straight North.

I was able to successfully start a career in SEO in my role at Covario (now iProspect), then transitioning into Digitas, and then founding the Technical SEO practice at Capgemini (formerly LYONSCG).

In my career, I’ve worked with brands of varying sizes, from small businesses, mid-sized companies, and even enterprise level and Fortune 500 companies. All the while, fine tuning my craft in website migrations, Technical SEO, Content SEO, and Off-site SEO, starting my own e-commerce brand (Alebrije Wear) and finding my passion for helping businesses.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned while growing my career and personal life is that I love helping people. I love sharing what I know for the sake of growth. Whether it be SEO or otherwise.
